Emeritus, Roy Thompson
Roy Sloan Thompson is a native midwesterner. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan, he went to enjoy a long career with the IBM corporation serving in various Management and Consulting capacities.
After retiring from IBM, Roy and his wife Jean moved to Indian River County where they have been residents for over thirty years. With his wife Jean, he has been active in local real estate investments and a member of many civic and cultural organizations. After serving a long tenure as President of the Treasure Coast Scottish Society, Roy was elected President Emeritus of our Society. He now sits on the Board as an Ex-Officio member. He also is co-chairperson of our Scottish Family History Program and a devoted genealogist.
